Season 1 was an original concept that held its own and was successful in its own right, which can’t be the case in other seasons. The best thing about Season 2 is the acting. The cast is absolutely brilliant! Squid Game 2 feels lacking because it refuses to resolve ANY of this season’s many threads. There are many ways to build suspense, but the laziest is when you simply refuse to answer all the questions you’ve been asking for seasons, which will be addressed in Season 3. It’s clear that the show is now much less interested in telling a satisfying story and more invested in expanding the franchise into a multi-season subscription retention machine.
